How to Put App Store Screenshots in Real Device Frames (iPhone 17, iPad, Mac, Watch, Android)
Choose a project device (iPhone 6.5" or 6.9", iPad 13", Mac, Watch, Android and more), add a device frame layer and pick a real bezel or the clean vector frame. Pan and scale the screenshot inside it, optionally add an iOS status bar. Exports stay at the store's exact pixel size.
The problem
A raw simulator capture looks like a debug screenshot, and a store page full of bare captures looks unfinished. Putting each one in a device by hand means finding a bezel image at the right size, centring the screen, rounding the corners, and then discovering that the finished picture is no longer the exact size Apple asks for. For Android, Mac and Watch each has its own size and its own shape.
What AppShots gives you
- The canvas is the store size. Pick the project’s device and the canvas is exactly that many pixels: iPhone 6.5” (1284×2778) or 6.9” (1320×2868), iPad 13” (2064×2752), Mac (2880×1800), Apple Watch (410×502), Android phone and tablet, and more.
- Real bezels for recent hardware, in several colours, for iPhone (the iPhone 17 line, iPhone Air, 16, 15 and earlier) and iPad, plus Mac and Watch frames.
- A clean vector frame that works for any device, with an optional iOS status bar.
- Positioning inside the frame: pan the screenshot horizontally or vertically and scale it to show exactly the part you want.
- Shadows that follow the actual silhouette of the bezel.
Steps
- Create a project and choose the device and orientation.
- Add a device frame layer (from the Frames panel).
- Choose a real bezel, or the vector frame.
- Drop a screenshot onto it, or batch import a set.
- Adjust position and scale inside the frame, and turn the status bar on or off.
Choosing sensibly
- Match the bezel to the target size. A 6.9” project with a 6.9”-class frame looks right.
- Pick one colour of bezel for the whole set so the store page is calm.
- Use the vector frame if you don’t want to show a specific model, or the device has no bezel in the library.
- Check for text clipped by the notch or Dynamic Island after you scale the screenshot.
