Website privacy policy

Last updated: 8 November 2026. This policy covers the website at mzjpg.com. Each of our apps has its own privacy policy, listed on the policies page.

Who is responsible

Yongliang Wang (MZSoft), Berlin, Germany. Email: [email protected].

In short

  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies.
  • The site sets no cookies. It remembers your light/dark choice in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device.
  • Fonts and images are served from our own domain, with one exception: YouTube video thumbnails (see below).
  • We only receive personal data you send us yourself, through the contact form or by email.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA; Cloudflare Germany GmbH in the EU). To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address and technical request data (time, requested URL, browser type). We do not use this data to identify you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Contact form and email

When you use the contact form, we receive the email address, name, topic, product, message and device details you enter, plus the page you sent it from, the country derived from your IP address and your browser's user agent. This is stored in our database on Cloudflare (D1) so we can answer and follow up. We use it only to handle your request.

  • Notification. A short copy of the message is pushed to the operator's phone through a self-hosted Bark server, which delivers it via Apple Push Notification service.
  • Email. Replies are sent and received through Cloudflare Email Service.
  • Writing assistant. When drafting a reply, we may use an AI writing assistant (Anthropic or OpenAI). In that case your message is sent to that provider to draft the answer. The providers do not use this data to train their models under their API terms.
  • Spam protection. The form may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser without cookies to tell people from bots.

Legal basis: answering your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it concerns a product you use, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete messages once your request is resolved and no follow-up is expected, unless we must keep them for legal reasons (for example, purchase-related correspondence).

If you receive product announcements from us by email, each one contains an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.

YouTube videos

Video pages show preview images loaded from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com, Google Ireland Ltd.), which receives your IP address when the page loads. The video player itself is only loaded when you click play, from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com); from then on, Google's privacy policy applies. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in showing our tutorials.

Purchases

App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Direct purchases of our Mac apps are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page; we receive the order details we need to deliver your licence, never your card details.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
