How to Compare Before and After with the ReColor Slider (and Check the Details)

TL;DR

The editor shows the original and the result with a draggable divider. Pinch to zoom, pan, and tap the corner for full screen. Check skin tones, clothing and sky at full size before exporting, because that's where a wrong guess shows.

The problem

Judging a colourised photo from a thumbnail is impossible. The overall look can seem lovely while the faces are slightly green or a uniform is the wrong colour, and you only notice after you’ve shared it with the family. You want to see the change precisely where it matters.

How to inspect

The editor puts the original and the colourised result in one view with a draggable divider.

  • Drag it slowly across a face to see exactly what colour was added.
  • Pinch to zoom and pan to inspect eyes, lips, hair, clothes and background.
  • Tap the corner for full screen.

The hint on screen says it directly: drag to compare, pinch to zoom, tap the corner for full screen.

What to check

  1. Skin tones. Look for green, purple or grey patches on faces and hands.
  2. Clothes and uniforms. Colour is the hardest thing to know here; accept plausible, not necessarily right.
  3. Sky, grass and water. These are usually good.
  4. Edges. Check that colour doesn’t bleed over a boundary, for example from a coat onto the wall.
  5. Overall saturation. It should look natural, not candy.

If something looks off

See when colours look grey or wrong. Often a better scan or a tighter crop helps.

Tip

Compare at the size you plan to use. A small social post forgives more than a print.

FAQ

How do I compare? Drag the divider across the photo. The original is on one side and the colourised version on the other.

Can I zoom? Yes. Pinch to zoom and pan, and tap the corner to go full screen.

Does comparing change my photo? No. It is only a view; nothing is changed.
