How to Blur Faces Across a Whole Photo Album at Once

TL;DR

Free PrivShot imports one photo at a time. Pro (a one-time purchase) lets you pick many photos at once; each is processed on-device, you can open any tile to check or edit it, then save all to your library.

The problem

You came back from an event, a protest, a school trip or a holiday with 150 photos, many with other people’s faces in them. You want to share them. Redacting each one by hand is such a chore that people either post the raw photos or post nothing, and a few get redacted badly because they were rushed.

What the batch flow does

With Pro, Import from library accepts many photos. PrivShot processes them one after another, finds faces and personal data in each, and shows the results as a grid with a count of what was blurred on each tile.

  • Each photo is detected on its own, with your default categories and style.
  • Every tile is editable. Tap one to open the same review editor with its detections, brush and rectangle tools, and your changes are remembered for that tile.
  • Save all to library writes the redacted copies, each with its location removed.

How to do it

  1. Set your defaults first in Settings: Style, Strength, and which categories to pre-select. The batch uses them.
  2. Choose Import from library and select the photos.
  3. Wait while it works through them. A progress bar shows how many are done.
  4. Skim the grid. Photos with a count of zero are worth a look: either nothing was found, or something was missed.
  5. Open the busy ones (groups, crowds) and check them properly.
  6. Tap Save all to library.

Do this before you hit Save

  • Spot-check the hard ones. Group shots, crowds and documents deserve a real look even in batch mode.
  • Zero detections isn’t “safe”. It may mean no faces, or faces the detector missed.
  • Keep your originals until you’ve checked the copies.

Free vs. Pro

Free: one photo at a time, with a small watermark. Pro (a one-time purchase): bulk import, unlimited photos, no watermark. See Free vs. Pro.

FAQ

Can I batch on the free version? Free imports one photo at a time, with a small watermark. Batch import and no watermark come with Pro.

Can I still edit individual photos? Yes. Tap a tile to open the same editor with its detections, and your changes are kept for that tile.

Is Pro a subscription? No. It is a single one-time purchase, with no auto-renew.

Will a big batch use a lot of memory? Photos are processed one at a time, and large images are released as they finish.
