DualCam Not Working? Fixes for "Not Supported", Sideways Selfie, Overheating and Failed Saves
Dual recording needs iPhone XS or later and iOS 17. If it fails, close other camera apps, free storage, let a hot phone cool, and use Settings → Front Camera → Image rotation for a sideways selfie. One recording always stops at 10 minutes.
The problem
Recording with two cameras pushes a phone harder than ordinary video, and the failure messages are not always obvious. Here are the common ones and what to do.
”Dual Camera Not Supported”
Recording both cameras at once needs Apple’s multi-camera capture: iPhone XS (A12) or later, on iOS 17 or later. Older phones can’t do it. Demo Mode uses a single camera and works on any supported iPhone.
”No camera video frames were received”
Another app is using the camera, or the session was interrupted. Close other camera and video-call apps, then reopen DualCam.
Permissions
Camera, microphone and Photos access are all required. If you declined one, open iOS Settings → DualCam to allow it.
The selfie image is sideways or upside down
The front camera on some newer iPhones (iPhone 17 and Air with Center Stage) is mounted a quarter turn from earlier models. DualCam measures this automatically. If the front image is still wrong, go to Settings → Front Camera → Image rotation and pick an angle. Automatic matches your camera.
The phone gets hot, or Pre-Record turns off
Two cameras, 4K and background effects generate heat. DualCam stands Pre-Record down when the phone is hot or low on memory. Cool the phone, drop to HD 30 fps, turn off effects, and keep it out of the sun.
”Not enough free storage”
Two-camera video is large. The app tells you roughly how much space to free before it can save to Photos, and Pre-Record needs room for its buffer too.
It stopped after 10 minutes
A single recording is capped at 10 minutes. Start another for longer sessions.
The preview looks wider than the saved video
Multi-camera preview can’t always use the same stabilization as the recording, so the saved file may be a little tighter.
Haptics don’t buzz while recording
iOS mutes haptic feedback while the microphone is capturing, and with Pre-Record armed the mic is on all the time.

FAQ
Why does it say dual camera is not supported? The phone doesn’t support simultaneous front and back capture. It needs an iPhone XS or later.
