How to Back Up and Restore Your Custom Radio Stations

TL;DR

In Settings choose Export Custom Stations to save a ZIP backup, and Restore from Backup to bring stations back. Restoring reports how many were imported, updated or skipped. Playlists, history and alarms are not part of it.

The problem

You spent an hour adding fifty stations. A bulk delete, a new phone without iCloud, or a reset could wipe them, and you’d have to find every stream address again.

Export

  1. Settings → Custom Stations → Export Custom Stations.
  2. Save the ZIP to Files, iCloud Drive or send it to yourself.

Restore

  1. Settings → Custom Stations → Restore from Backup.
  2. Choose the backup ZIP.
  3. RadioX reports how many stations were imported, updated and skipped.

When to back up

  • After importing a big list.
  • Before deleting groups or resetting the app.
  • Before switching phones.

Also

You can share the same stations as a CSV (see the import guide) if you want to edit them in a spreadsheet.

FAQ

What is in the backup? Your custom stations: names, stream URLs, descriptions, groups and other details.

Are alarms or playlists included? No, only custom stations.

What happens on restore? Stations are added or updated, and you get counts of imported, updated and skipped.

Is iCloud sync enough? It helps, but a backup file is independent of iCloud and survives mistakes like a bulk delete.
